So there I was, sharing a “memory” on Facebook, when an interesting discussion ensued. Please share your thoughts about that:

Yocheved Golani January 8, 2012 The Occupational Therapist on my rather large 2005 & beyond medical team has helped me to recover from many fractures, including that crushed elbow on my (thank GOD) still-dominant arm. She’s one of the people still reacting to that December 7th magazine article about my overall healing story. She just contacted m via E-mail: “I read your araticle in Family First and it was beautifully written. I don’t think I was ever fully aware of the entire back story of your condition. It’s nice to know the person behind the story and I am sure you gave chizuk to so many out there. Although I truly doubt that there are many people who are as determined and as optimistic as you are. Fondly, Joy Goldsmith”3You, Jill R Llewellyn and Pam Machefsky
Jill R Llewellyn What happened?
Yocheved Golani The answer is way too big for a facebook bubble Jill, so here’s a tiny summary: In 2005 I learned in an ER that I was dying of a benign brain tumor crushing my brain. The size of the tumor and its location limited how many brain surgeons could possibly remove it without killing me in the process.
All the red flags, alarms, and a few sobs from me were sounding off to find a brain surgeon able to save me with the short amount of time left. Two were located – in the entire world. Two. One was in Israel and it was up to me to choose which doctor would try to help me. He did. Then…
NOBODY in the medical world knew how to uncrush my optic nerves. I’d been blinded by the problem. But I see, and I see in color. I explain in my EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge book what I did to see again, making medical history in the process. Read all about it, and how those life lessons can help people with many different kinds of health issues, medical or mental.
It was a matter of choosing an attitude, taking specific actions, and NEVER, ever, letting go of my efforts to reach a specific goal. I relied on knowledge not available to average layman (my training and experience as a certified Health Information Management professional and my training plus experience in counseling people), too, so I shared it in the book in order to empower people overwhelmed by a devastating diagnosis. That’s part of how I thank GOD for saving my life and restoring my vision; helping other people to persevere past emotional shock and intellectual uncertainty, plus a huge lack of essentially necessary information.
I was financially harmed by the medical misadventure and pray that people buy the book to help me back to my financial feet. The book cover bears praise from clergy of different faiths plus medical and mental health professionals. http://booklocker.com/books/3067.html
